Alright guys, congratulations! You are on step number six of decluttering your basement, which is really just a lot of fun. I am super proud of you and excited that you are here! This means you have gotten rid of your trash and recycling. You’ve gotten rid of the items you’ve been meaning to get rid of. You are making sure that the items you are keeping are helping you live your best life, you’re experimenting, and you’ve consolidated your keep items into a similar area so you have more space for the life that you want to live. Now you get to move forward with that dream.
So what was it? What did you really want to do with your basement? Did you want to have a nice laundry room, create a playroom, a rec space, add another bedroom, bathroom? Or maybe you just wanted a clean basement and not to stress every time you went down there. I totally get it. Let me know what it is you’re going to do with your basement now, or if your plans have changed since step number three. I’d love to hear about it.
With this step, go ahead and enjoy it. Enjoy this progress of getting closer to living the life you want to live. If you’ve sold items along the way you probably have more money to make this transformation. That’s really awesome.
What’s key here is whatever you are wanting to do in your basement, go ahead and plan it out. Look for the items you want to add in, but don’t rush to buy. Don’t go on a big shopping spree right away and bring a bunch of stuff in.
Most likely, you still need to clarify your vision and I don’t want you to bring in stuff you don’t absolutely love into your home. So take your time with it, save for it, and make those changes in a way that’s going to work really, really well for you and your family.
Enjoy this new space. I’m so excited that you have a decluttered basement. I can’t wait to see you in my next series.
Until then, happy decluttering!
